Description

The stairs are steep and typical of a cottage of this age and style
Explore the Jurassic Coast from this traditional former rope makers cottage, ideally situated just a 2 minute walk into the historic market town of Bridport. The two bedroom cottage is set over three floors and is cosy and well equipped. On street parking.
The space
The cottage is set over three floors. On the ground floor is the living room with wood burning stove and dining area, along with the kitchen and ground floor W.C. Up to the first floor is the twin bedroom and family shower room. In the loft room is the main bedroom with skylight window to allow plenty of natural light.

It is perfect for walkers and families, right in the heart of Bridport with an eclectic mix of independent shops, cafes and galleries along with a popular twice weekly market and artisan food centre. Just a mile and a half away is the quaint harbour at West Bay.

Guest access

Access to the cottage is very easy, you can unload at the front of the property where there is 1 hour restricted parking. You can then move your car to a nearby residential street and explore everywhere on foot for the duration of your stay.

    Excellent

Rope cottage is a lovely quaint cottage, well equipped for a self catering break, it's situated close to cafe's , super markets , pubs everything in walking distances. Once parked the car no need to use it again as the bus station is just around the corner very convenient with regular run buses to every where needed to go for a small price. You can bus or walk to visit west bay takes around a hour to walk. Most enjoyable stay. Only one thing to note is the stairs some would find them quite steep

    Bijou but cosy

We stayed at Rope Cottage for 3 nights and thought it seemed slightly smaller than we had imagined from the photographs. The bedrooms are a good size and the bathroom elevates the whole property as huge and brand new. The furniture in the lounge was not that comfortable, and the TV was very small and did not have iPlayer etc. which could be an easy improvement for guests. It would also be nice to have somewhere to sit outside. Location of the cottage is great though, right in the heart of town making everything very accessible. Would stay again for the location.

    Great location and good value

Great location and good value but is a bit noisy when the windows are open, owing to road proximity. Clean and comfortable. Not suitable for young children in view of stairs and open access from bedrooms. Top bedroom is lovely but hot in the summer - fan use is required. Parking easy in nearby residential roads.

    A lovely character cottage

A lovely character cottage, lovingly restored, had a French cottage feel to it, very cosy. Log burner really kicked out the heat, central heating perfectly timed to come on to keep the cottage warm and toasty. We spent Christmas there and happy to find beautifully decorated Christmas tree with lights, also on beams [lovely surprise]. Made for a very memorable time and would definitely go back again, especially at Christmas. Amy the host was so kind and helpful throughout.

    A really gorgeous cottage

A really gorgeous, quirky, cosy cottage in a perfect location for exploring Bridport and the surrounding area. We did the walk around Alllington as suggested in one of the information folders and it was really interesting! The cottage was clean, comfortable, fully equipped and we had great communication with the host. We hope to return!
